## Quill
> Quill is RavenDB's AI context layer. It lets teams ship AI agents and applications on top of the SQL databases they already run (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL), syncing data continuously via CDC, with no migration and no changes to existing architecture or applications.
Quill sits between existing SQL systems and AI agents. Source databases are never modified; data is synced into RavenDB, where it becomes queryable and usable for AI context, retrieval, and agent workflows. Quill has its own RBAC model, independent of the source database's permissions. It runs on-premises or in the cloud.
Quill is a distinct product and brand, separate from RavenDB's core database offering.
